Description

The rooftop garden opened in 1896 and was open every day from 8 A.M. until 10 or 11 P.M. In 1903, the Alliance estimated 10,000 visitors a day. The Garden provided a refreshment stand, a milk bar, entertainment, and at one point, a branch of the circulating library and educational lectures.
